Are you an electrical engineer with passion in power electronics and electrical systems? Are you looking for hands-on
experience in hardware and software applications? Are you interested in building your technical expertise through the
execution of global engineering projects in the growing market of Energy Industry? If yes, then this is your chance to
become a member of a highly qualified engineering team and help to further develop our Excitation Business Line. In
this role, you will be working with a project team, being responsible for the electrical design (HW) and control (SW)
of Excitation Systems such as UNITROL, MEGATROL, UNIREC H2. You will be supporting in various phases of customer
projects to ensure successful submission of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and
safety guidelines.

Project Engineering Manager
Your responsibilities
- Core project team member responsible for the electrical design (HW & SW) of customer projects
- Delivery of project documents such as electrical drawings and control software fulfilling the customer requirements
- Assisting customers to resolve technical issues by making technical studies and proposing feasible solutions
- Collaboration with customers and other project teams such as Mechanical Engineering, Factory Assembly, Factory
Testing, Sourcing, Quality in the framework of project execution
- Collaboration with Global Product and R&D Teams to maintain ABB’s standard solutions for excitation systems and
develop the next generation of products for emerging technologies such as Hydrogen
- Developing the technical expertise in electrical system engineering for Excitation Units
Your background
- Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with focus in Power Electronics
- Minimum 2 years of experience in working with Power Electronics and Electrical Systems (Electrical Machines, Drives,
Transformers). Experience with Excitation Systems would be a plus
- Experience with SAP, E3 and EPLAN software tools would be a plus
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies and follow a career path as
technical expert
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
- A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
- Fluency in English and willingness to learn German
