Project Lead Engineering Manager (80-100%)

Are you looking for a challenge within the growing market of System Drives Packaging? This is your chance to shape our
business as a Project Lead Engineering Manager in the area of MV Drives Packages. In this role, you will lead the
Packaging Engineering team and support the Lead Engineers towards successful execution of worldwide customer projects,
which generally involve the complete variable speed drive systems. In parallel you will also execute your own Package
Projects in the role of a Lead Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, you will ensure the local
portfolio of projects, are executed successfully, based on best practices and ABB Policies. The range of duties for
your team will encompass the designing, engineering and tracking of all involved system components like transformers,
converters, motors and auxiliaries from order entry until the end of the warranty period.
Your responsibilities
- Lead, train and coach the local Package Engineering team and ensure Project execution of large converter Packages
starting from order intake until the end of the warranty period.
- Execute complex VSDS projects in the role of Lead Engineer according to best engineering practice.
- Responsibility for remotely and onsite working Package Lead Engineers
- Dedicated to the organizational, structural as well as personal preconditions to reach the Package Engineering team
goals.
- Responsible for capacity planning incl. forecasting in coordination with relevant stakeholders
- Lead strategic decisions in team on tools, processes and review boards and collaborate with peers from Sales,
Project Management, Converter and Special Application Engineering in common projects
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Ensure competency planning is maintained according to current business needs.
- Developing, and continuously improving respective processes, based on industry best practices. Ensuring that
findings from lessons learned from project execution are incorporated in continuous improvement actions.
Your background
- MSc or BSC in Electrical Engineering with several years of experience in Electrical Engineering on system level
working with complex projects in the industrial markets
- Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, people leader and interest in developing the team. Ideally experience
in leading a technical team
- Proven experience in thinking and acting systemically as well as result oriented working style.
- Strong team player amongst various stakeholders in a global and corporate structure, able to de-escalate and manage
dynamic environment.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Fluent in English is mandatory, German and other languages is a plus
