Join our team in our manufacturing organization in Birr, as a Buyer/Procurement Specialist (m/f).
In our factory in Birr, we produce Hot Gas Parts, rotors and provide Repair services for Turbines to help our
customers to provide electrical energy around the world. Our Priorities are on safety, quality, on time delivery and
cost, in order to fulfill our customer needs.
You will be supporting our team in the procurement of Direct Materials related to Repair & Sub-contracting processes
You will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. You apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and
entity with respect to specifications and impact quality of own work and the work of others on the team. You are
focused on execution of standard enabling activities.. A key element of your role will be to ensure OTD (on time
delivery), Quality and prices align with our Handbooks and support the cost savings initiatives to the business.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Place and follow-up on Purchase Orders. Manage relationships with suppliers for Purchase Orders execution. Manage
problems and schedule changes. Update ERP
- Work with both subcontractors and direct materials suppliers
- Work closely with production departments to communicate delivery dates and solve delivery issues
- Collaborate with others to solve issues. Develops strong suppliers’ relationships and serves as the interface
between supplier and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding
- Work on the factory and corporate initiatives to improve productivity, OTD (on time delivery)
- Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how own work
contributes to the success of the business unit
- Resolve issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues
Required Qualifications and Know How
- Bachelor degree or equivalent education or relevant practical experience
- Strong experience in procurement of direct materials and subcontracting activities
- Very good level of English and German is a must
- Good knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems (SAP)
